Hotel Package Deals & Suppliers
I have noticed over the last few months that a lot of the hotels are offering package deals to include, Photographer, Videographer, Band, DJ etc...
This is a piece explaining why this may not be suitable for everyone.
To put my cards on the table I am not linked nor will I ever be linked with any hotel in this type of arrangement. The reason is simple, I offer my own packages giving you the greatest control and flexibility over the look and quality of your wedding DVD or Blu-ray.
When you book a package deal with the hotel you are tied to it. This type of arrangement is only in place to benefit the hotel, to help them secure more bookings. They agree a fixed price with each supplier for services provided. This price is usually well below market rates and more often than not, the supplier the hotel provides is less experienced professionals, who are looking to build up a reputation.
Hotel supplied suppliers may not even be employed by you, but instead by the hotel meaning you may not even know who the supplier is, what their work is like or even what type of service they provide! Other hotels do give names of suppliers who are included in their package deals. But to stress again you are tied to their packages as provided by the hotel.
As an independent videographer I spend hours sifting through the material I record on your big day and each clip is carefully edited so every detail is to your liking as you requested when you booked. I have spent years building up my equipment base to ensure each and every wedding DVD or Blu-ray looks and sounds as stunning as you want your wedding day to be remembered. Before you are handed your DVD or Bly-ray you have a proofing session, just to make sure everything is as you want it to be.
If you want to have a say in how your wedding DVD or Blu-ray looks, booking a hotel package may not be the way to go. Quite often it is cheaper. But do keep in mind that no-one is going to provide a first class service / product for well below the normal rate of pay.
It is always worth getting independent package prices before committing.
