Payment is key to the success of any business, without payment the business will fail, it's as simple as that!
The reason payment is required upfront is simple.
On some occasions it may be some time until the client is available to receive their completed DVD. The work will have been completed and my contractual obligations met. Yet payment may be outstanding for and an indefinite period. As a small business this is unacceptable. (would you do without your pay and not know when your going to get it?)
Payment which hasn't been received in full by the due date can have severe consequences for a small business as cash flow is disrupted, and payments to creditors may be missed, leading to all sorts of problems.
My terms of business state that full payment must be paid In full Seven days before the event.
Frequently in the past I have verbally agreed that full payment can be made on the day itself, as it is convenient to the client. This I am changing and requiring payment on the contractual due date (Seven days before). Due to some clients defaulting from this arrangement without agreement.
I do apologise if this causes any difficulty, but from time to time the terms and conditions need a little tweaking, this is one such occasion.
